Living with Balls Logo

After a month off, the Comment of the Month award has returned.  This month’s award winner goes to “Staffy” for his comment on the post The Lifetime Network is Eating Away at my Manhood.  In this post, I complained about the horrible shows my girl makes me watch on the Lifetime network.  Staffy chimed in and suddenly I didn’t feel so bad.  Here’s what he had to say… (more…)

Links of the Week: December 30, 2009

Here is this week’s edition of Links of the Week.  Every week LwB scans man blogs for some amusing and informative content.  This week we have 9 high school classmates you’ll see over Christmas break, a baseball hall-of-fame debate and much more. So check it out.

Girls and Relationships
In light of Tara Reid posing for playboy recently, Spewf suggest three other celebs who should follow suit.  I wouldn’t mind seeing any of these girls in Playboy. It’ll never happen though.

For those that are married, here is some good marriage advice from Engaged Marriage

Lifestyle
From the Art of Manliness, here are 13 things a man should keep in his car.  I have maybe two of them. However, I have AAA so I should be ok.

A great debate here by Muff Slap. Would you rather be Tom Brady or Justin Timberlake?  Tough call but if I had to choose, I’d probably go with Justin Timberlake. Having to deal with Bill Bellichick everyday is not something I’d want to do. (more…)

An Ode to Teagan Presley: Celebrity Tweeter of the Year, 2009

After months of competition, we have a winner in the first ever Celebrity Tweet of the Week.  This person blew away the competition, besting celeb tweeters, John Mayer, Rainn Wilson and Chad Ochocinco to win the award.  The winner of 2009 Living with Balls Celebrity Tweet of the Week is… TEAGAN PRESLEY!

Ms. Teagan, the adult film star, has provided us men with great tweets the entire year.  Let’s take a look back at some of the finer ones.  (more…)

The Holiday Text Message Epidemic is Out of Control

There’s an epidemic going around this holiday season and it’s not the swine flu. It’s much worse than that…It’s the holiday text message. The holiday text message is a mass text message that is sent out from a friend or family member wishing you a happy holiday. This may seem like a friendly act, but it is not.

As texting has becoming more mainstream, I’ve seen an exponential increase in the number of text messages I receive on a given holiday each year. Mothers, grandmothers, toddlers: they’re all texting these days. The problem is getting increasingly worse.

The worst days for holiday text messaging are upon us. Thanksgiving, which just passed, is one of them. Christmas, New Years Day and Easter are the other three main culprits. Jewish people, you are safe for 50 percent of these holidays. This might be the only scenario where a Christian would be jealous of a Jewish holiday. (more…)

Celebrity Tweet of the Week: December 17, 2009

The Celebrity Tweet of the Week is getting down to the nitty-gritty.  Did any of this year’s top performers make the cut this week and move up the rankings?  There’s only one more edition left after this one before I declare a winner.

Teagan Presley is still holding on to the lead but Rainn Wilson and Chad Ochocinco still have an outside shot.  (more…)

NFL Team or Fantasy Football Team?: The Great Debate

mjdLester’s Legends, a fantasy sports blog, is running a survey to determine if people are more passionate about their favorite football team or their fantasy sports team.

Lester’s Legend’s says:
At one time or another, I bet everyone has wondered whether we should root for a fantasy player who is going up against our “real” NFL team.  I think it all boils down to a simple question:  does it feel better when my fantasy football team wins, or when my favorite NFL team wins?

This conundrum comes up on an almost weekly basis and its something many fantasy football fans wrestle with.  There is no better example of this dilemma for me than this Thursday night’s game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts. (more…)

You Guys Need to Step it Up!

logo1 copyIn October I decided to start a Comment of the Month Award. I started this feature for a few reasons. First, I wanted to make the experience on this site even more enjoyable. Funny comments make my posts even better, thus making people want to come back more often. Secondly, I wanted to encourage other bloggers to come back to the site. I did this by offering to link to their blog if they won the award.

Well after an amazing Comment of the Month Award from Uncle Billy in October, things have dropped off. You may have noticed that I didn’t even do one for November because no one really said anything memorable. Now it’s mid-way through December and I still have nothing.

So I’m writing this post to challenge the dozens of readers that visit this blog everyday to get more creative with their comments. It will make this site even better. Follow the lead of Uncle Billy. I know you guys can do it
